Genesynthesis is the official full-length studio album of the cosmic trimurti: Louie, Jai and Enric, collectively known as Vedas. It is a collection that showcases not only a spiritual auditory experience but also attempts to take you on a guided trip into your inner cosmos.
The album is divided into seven segments of instrospective transcendental melodies. The whole journey begins with its titular track opener, a short welcome ceremony of sorts. Then it slowly gains momentum with ‘Dozen of Crickets’, a trance-like maha mantra evoking shakti from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It continues with its invocation through ‘Leaf Bed’, which leads into psyched out rhythms by way of ‘Hibiscus I and II’, sequestered gradually into ‘Sweet Nectar Dreams’ – the proverbial calm before the storm, a short piece highlighted by its rhythmic beat evocative of water droplets. The result is a serene and melancholic song that lulls the listener into a dream-like state. Finally, he awakes at the end of the journey, bookended by an almost krautrock crescendo, ‘Kosmiche Kosmik’, a groove bursting with psychic radiance highly reminiscent of heavy hitters like Neu! or Ash Ra Tempel.
Genesynthesis is nothing short of a revelation – a paean, a praise, a hymn to the ineffable cosmic divine.
